The Parish Council

Town and parish councils are the first layer of local government. They are elected local authorities, which aim to engage local people and respond to their needs, through representation as community advocates or by providing services, for example; providing litter bins, cutting verges or promoting tourism in the local area.

Meet The Councillors

Derry Hill & Studley Parish Council has 11 Councillors across 3 Wards. The Council is elected every 4 years. The most recent elections were held in May 2025.

What We Do

The parish council serves and represents the community of Derry Hill & Studley. We work towards improving community well-being and providing better services at a local level.

Our History

The civil parish of Calne Without was only created in 1890 and covered all the outlying parts of the ancient parish of Calne. In May 2025 there were major boundary changes and the civil parish was split across 7 different parishes. What remained of Calne Without Civil parish was renamed Derry Hill & Studley Parish Council.
